All the necessary system libraries are open. The
libraries like
ibCrun, libCstd, libdemangle etc. are
libraries specific to the C++ runtime environment
for binaries
ompiled using SUN Studio compiler.
These libraries are bundled by default in Solaris
Express, but are
ot necessary for the OS to function.
Mute point as the lib distribution is being addressed but with your statement
that Solaris Express is not dependent on Java and the libs that are dependent
on it for install process in order for a functional Solaris OS are you saying
that
Belinix should be the standard which Solaris Express should follow? Or Solaris
shouldn't be dependent on Java for the OS to function in general?
No, I did not mean that. The question was "How could communtiy
OpenSolaris distros
function without needed system libraries being present ?". So I
pointed out that libCrun
is not a system library, but a compiler specific runtime which is not
necessary for the base
OS to function.
Various apps/utilities may depend upon libC however. Such apps and
libCrun are bundled
with Solaris Express. Thus Solaris Express which is SUN's distro of
OpenSolaris includes
software that are dependent on libCrun but base OpenSolaris does not
require libCrun.
