Hi Steve,
Thank you for your email. I have just submitted my message
to the discussion forum in regard to my problem with libxml2 and php5
installation on my Solaris 10 x86 platform. You can read what I have discussed
there, but yes, I suggest you download the latest version of libxml2 from
OpenSolaris, compile and package it as a new Sun package. Is it
possible?
The newly compiled version of libxml2 did actually
resolve the php5 install problem.
Thank you for your help.

you need or at least assist you with any software you get from
my sunfreeware site and need to integrate with software from other
sites. I am always very happy to do this. If software needs to
be updated on my site, I will do that.

I haven't had any problems compiling the latest php5 with xml2 libs on Solaris 11. Sunfreeware has an email list that you might ask if it's a version problem.

Forgive me, I am very new to this OpenSolaris website, I noticed you mentioned the source browser. I just had a look at it and found it has the lastest libxml2 source code (2.6.23). Does it mean the best way is to download the source code from that and compile rather than using the SunFreeware package?
