This is not a mailing list, this is a Jive forum, of which email is but one interface possible for reading that list.
No, that's not correct, it is both. If you post via mailman it is gatewayed to Jive, and if you post via Jive it is gatewayed to Mailman - neither really 'leads'.
The version of Jive we are running is old and no longer supported, and we haven't been creating Jive forums to pair up with new mailing lists for quite some time. We haven't decided what to replace Jive with in the future, but for now it should be considered to be 'deprecated'.
