I'm not going to try to convince you that OpenSolaris the right choice for you; it very well might not be. But that doesn't mean we intend for it to be that way. Is there anything in particular that bothered you about OpenSolaris when you tried it? Missing applications or tools? Was setting something up too difficult? I can't say we'll be able to fix your problems before OpenSolaris has worn out its welcome, but knowing will help us improve the experience for the next person (and for you if you decide to stick with it or try it again sometime :).
