With me being new to this, something got messed up so I reinstalled the OS. I
then installed OSS without the soundcard. When I did the osstest program this
is what I got:

Sound subsystem and version: OSS 4.0
(b1012/200801051101) (0x00040003)
Platform: SunOS/i86pc 5.11 snv_70b

*** Scanning sound adapter #-1 ***
/dev/oss/ich0/pcm0 (audio engine 0): Nvidia nForce
Note! Device is in use (by PID 0/SADA) but will try
anyway
- Performing audio playback test...
/dev/oss/ich0/pcm0: Device busy
The device is busy. There is some other application
using it.
Can't open the device

*** Some errors were detected during the tests ***

But when I put in an audio CD, it played!!! And I can adjust the volume by
clicking on the volume applet and adjusting the slider.

The Interrupt Mode is set for APIC in the BIOS.

Thanks for your help.
