internet works with vbox with nat no problem where the bridge is needed is for 
other networking tools. you can't host services very easily with out the 
machine being directly on the network instead of going through the nat. I've 
also had problems using my windows vm in vbox and trying to download content 
from MSDN. It'll download the download program, but when I use the download 
program to down load the software it's not able to connect. You can't even ping 
the vm behind the nat. With a bridge you can have multiple virtual nics 
attached to the physical one working on different IP's and the network works as 
if they are their own seperate physical box.
