Its got 4 Gigs of RAM in it, the root pool is about 50Gigs and the main data pool is spread over 6 disks and about 5Terrabyte. All ZFS parameters are as default. The Intel baseband management controller within the board also stops reponding to pings when the system becomes unresponsive. I'd always thought this should respond no matter what the main cpu is doing ? I think I'll try removing the two PICExpress SATA cards next in favour of a 4port PCI-X one I have lying around, can't hurt to try I guess.
