Hello, after installing OS a few times to get familiar with it and with zfs I now want to install a "real" machine with 4 disks as RAIDZ2 rpool.
Problems are: 1) Installer doesnt support that (if 4 discs selected a mirror is created) 2) Installing onto a 5th disc and migrating it to a manually created raidz2 failed: couldnt get it to boot/could not install grub for certain reasons. Method 2 was inspired by Cindy: http://mail.opensolaris.org/pipermail/zfs-discuss/2009-September/032085.html But after receiving the pool I got an error on setting the bootfs option (saying: not possible on EFI formated disc, or such). Question: What is the best way to install OS2009.06 onto raidz2 root pool? Any hints are welcome. Crawling the forum didn't answer that for me right now. -- Regards, Stefan -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
