I configured the network device iprb0 via the program network-admin. Unfortunately my entries for DNS did not work. At least I also found out how to configure the DNS on my machine. The information therefor I found in the countless threads on the networking and help forum. Thanks to all who contributed to that! (And sorry for my lousy English!) I moved the file /etc/nsswitch.dns to /etc/nsswitch.conf and set NETID_AUTHORITATIVE=TRUE in the file /etc/default/nss. After a reboot the name to address resolving worked. But I'm not so sure if the last point, the changing of the nss file was a good idea. But for the moment I'm happy to have a working Solaris snv_b82 on my PC.
