I can see now that IPv6 support is in the HEAD branch, I assume it will be included in some openssl release in the future, therefore there is no need for the change that I sent. A. I have no problems with making changes conditional. The patch can be changed to a conditional one, I was seeking comment about IPv6 code _at the moment_, focusing on the IPv6 functionality. Anyway, the patch for BIO is not needed, please disregard it. I've submitted another patch, rt #1361, for apps/ part.
