That's a common problem that I've only seen with Linux.  I haven't had
it happen with Windows or OS/2.  With earlier kernels, you could clear
the problem by switching to a command terminal and then back to the
desktop.  However, that doesn't seem to work with the 2.6 kernel.  I've
heard a USB mouse (that's USB all the way, not through a PS/2 adapter)
and KVM works, but don't have any experience with one of those.
