Jan,
Would other services e.g. setting up and hosting nvt sync feeds, or mirrors
for software, offer any benefit to you?? I know it isn't cold hard $$, but
it might alleviate some stress / growing pains of your setup to distribute
the load and possibly reduce your overhead???

Donations would be welcome.
I tried to initiate this a couple of times and get SPI to
handle it. However, it has not happened yet.
But such donations would be best invested into developer effords
such we did with a NVT development contest some time ago.
I could also imagine paying students for interesting features
or travelling to gather OpenVAS developers at conferences, running
booths etc.
Donations are not good to base a reliable service on as they don't
come in on a reliable basis. Thats where we hook in the companies
that deliver services around OpenVAS with the overall aim
of a sustainable development of NVTs and Scan-Engine both
as Free Software und GNU GPL.
All the best
Jan
