#21651: Ath9k wifi broken (at least on some devices) in chaos calmer, please add
warnings on release notes

-----------------------+------------------------
On a Lynksis WRT160NL, installing openwrt makes the hardware hardly
usable, because the wifi operation becomes very erratic.

Wifi works OK for some time, then all of a sudden the ping times start
showing some jitter (alternating responses in about 1ms to responses in
about 10-50ms), and then the ping response time goes high up to 15000ms
and the wifi becomes useless. This happens at any distance between the
device and the 'clients' accessing the AP (from 40cm to some meters).

For a device meant as a wifi access point this is a complete blocker.

Restarting the network with 'wifi' immediately fixes the issue, until it
comes again. Disassociating the client does not fix the issue. When the
issue occurs it is present on any possible client (tried with a PC with
intel wifi, an ipad, an android phone, etc).

This seems to be a rather serious issue with the ath9k driver.

The only workaround so far, seems to have a cron job issuing a 'wifi'
 command every few hours.

May be the same issue as in https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/12372.

My real problem is that I did not find any mention of it on the Chaos
Calmer release notes nor on device pages such as
 https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/linksys/wrt160nl
