I also would like to add that I do not completely agree on the sentence
The ath9k driver works well for many people and not well for some, this
does not depend on the model, architecture or version of it but rather on
environmental factors, therefor it makes no sense to issue model specific
warnings.
One thing is to have gracefully degraded performance in some environmental
conditions. One completely different thing is to have a logic that should
adaptively converge to an optimal set of parameters and that can
conversely lead to oscillatory (unstable) behavior or even orribly diverge
in some environmental conditions. This is a bug with the hardware and the
drivers and regardless of the fact that there can be conditions that do
not trigger the bug, it is always better to make bugs visible (even if a
solution is not yet available) than to pretend that the problem is with
the environment.
