I've complained about this very issue a number of times. I'd like to ammend your working hardware list to be a buyers guide of routers available at major online retailers which either 1) work flawlessly with 2.6 2) work flawlessly with 2.4 3) have extra features (ide, usb, faster cpu, larger switch, etc.) but that may require tweaking or compiling to work properly
