I can see that that file exists on disk and there is data within the file

If i do a ls –lah on the folder i see:

 

-rw-r-----  1 nagios nagcmd  320 2009-08-11 12:32 htpasswd.users

 

Can you check the user apache runs as is a member of the 'nagcmd' group as documented on 

or
