and the licence for Adobe Digital Editions ?

If you break into Adobe they'll bust you, extradite you to the USA
without due process and bang you up until you give in to a plea bargain,
but your chances of getting the UK data protection regime to care about
the reverse one iota are pretty much nil. Likewise I somehow doubt the
police will care about a complaint either.

Make sure people affected in a different country either file lawsuits or
bring complaints. Germany for example or US class action lawsuits.
