Hi Sam,

are you aware of the fact that the AS3 compiler is in the process of
being opened up?
I'm all for experimenting with/bringing to market/open sourcing
toolchains that can create abc bytecode or complete swf's from other
languages, but if your goal is to enhance AS3, you should maybe wait
for mxmlc to be released:

And as Robin noted, there already are compilers for other languages
like C# and Haxe.
Also note that the collaboration between Adobe and the Mozilla
Foundation looks pretty interesting:
