Ultimately, we agree: As I said in an earlier post, as long as OSG doesn't impose a "one size fits all" solution that excludes an application from achieving its project goals, then I won't object to such a feature.

OK, makes more sense. Your comment just sounded very absolute. It sounded to me like you thought either you had top performance and low maintainability, or you had high maintainability and a very slow performance. That would kind of fly in the face of all the software engineering advances of the last decade, as well as the basic principle of layering APIs over each other that OSG adheres to, and the design goals of C++, and ... Anyways you get the point.

Glad to see I had just misinterpreted.
