Ad.1 No in this moment I don't have any :). But I'm almost certainly that operation on floats will be faster then on double. And will give opportunity a compiler to generate a better assembly ( even generate a sse instructions ).
Ad. 2 I'm not that sure that math operations are trivial. I have done some research and found that on big graph cull operation are quite expensive. And I have done some testing by replace osg math with sse math on it and performance boost what quite notable. So when is talk about high performance that sse operation are made for that. Now days a SSE 2 instruction are available on approximate 90% of processors on market. If you're not entirely convinced in the near future I will try to write a class and be tested :). ------------------ Read this topic online here: http://forum.openscenegraph.org/viewtopic.php?p=56720#56720 _______________________________________________ osg-submissions mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openscenegraph.org/listinfo.cgi/osg-submissions-openscenegraph.org
