Hi Julian, I have just done a review of the complete changes and have merged the changes to GLExtensions.
The rest of the changes I will need to reflect upon and do some background research and thinking on how best to integrate these features. One of the main issues I spotted was the changes to the serializers will break backwards compatibility with older .osgb, .osgt and .osgx files as the addition of the BufferData will be run on all versions of the files. To integrate such a change we'd first need to come up with a way of versioning changes to the inheritance description. I'd also not add glEnable/glDisable into a draw callback as the osg::State has lazy state updating that can handle the mode enabling/disabling as required without risk of state leaking. Enabling a mode on a StateSet attached to the drawable should be sufficent for enabling a mode locally on that drawable, osg::State will automatically disable this mode for the rest of the scene.
