Well there is a README.txt in the root directory that mentions very clearly about CMake... and the Getting Started guide has CMake as its second entry... If we did write a WHERE_ARE_VS_PROJECT_FILES.txt then even this wouldn't be read by everyone, and where do you stop with trying to guess what questions users might ask but haven't come across the answer elsewhere. An occasional question on osg-users might suggest a lack of clear notification, but it also can suggest that the list is just a friendlier and easier place to ask questions than going hunting for an answer in the source code or online docs.
