While I agree static linking is good and have used in previous projects

In certain circumstance its not, but in my case its simply not allowed on
our applications. this is not a choice

We have restricted plugins to our products and are simply not allowed to use
any type static linking, security a rules overs all othe arguements for use
...

   Works wonders for me. I keep every release of my app around and I can run

them at any time with no headaches.
