I don't have much experiences with Google maps but I use Waze all the time. It gives far better results then any offline navigation. The big advantage is that it knows how fast you can really go on each road. It also has statistics how it usually differs during the day and it also takes into account current situation.
Osmand has none of these information. It has no idea if the road it sends me to has a terrible surface and I can not go faster then 50km/h ot if the same type of road is nice with low traffic, perfect surface and I can go 100 km/h without any problems. The routing of Osmand gives pretty bad results. It is not that bad in cities but on longer distances, it is not a good idea to follow it. The current traffic situation might be useless in places with good traffic infrastructure. But in my country it is very bad and there are traffic jams all the time. I really need to know if there are any problems in front of me. I use Waze daily even if I go to/from work because it can save me some time even on the way I perfectly know. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group.
