Rezko.

But, how was it a sweetheart deal? Asking price was 1.95 million,
Obama paid 1.65 million, which was the highest offer on the property.
Sounds like he negotiated, but it's a reasonable outcome and it's not
like he brought the house from Rezko anyway. Rezko bought the house
next door, and I'm perfectly willing to believe that Rezko wanted to
be next-door neighbor to a Senator, but that's nothing Obama did.
Later, Obama paid $104,500 for a strip of Rezco's land (assessed at
around half that), in order to erect a fence.

So... Obama bought a house, someone bad bought the house next to him,
and then Obama spent twice market value to put a fence between them.

Clearly, Rezko's a sleaze, and there's enough smoke here to trigger a
closer look, but there's no fire here, and people have been trying
hard to find it for a while.

Now, if you want to talk about influence peddling, we can talk about
the Keating Five. :-)
