Sure. But what matters isn't how many NRA members there are,
but how many NRA members there are who have changed their vote. I
don't know about you, but I think a lot of NRA members where pretty
much going to vote for the old white conservative war veteran anyway.

Won't make too much difference if the USWU are trying hard to
push them back the other direction.

THat, I think, will give McCain a temporary bump. But people
will get over it.

It WAS dangerous for Obama. Now it is even more dangerous for
the McCain camp. If McCain ever brings it up, all they have to do is
say 'and you an old man, and trusted the VP to someone with far less
experience', and McCain has taken a body blow.
So McCain has managed to take one of the few solid advantages
he had over Obama - and turn it into a disadvantage. Own goal.

And I think McCain took a hit to his long term campaign, his
credibility, and ultimately both his chances of getting elected and
the quality of his administration should he manage it, in order to
win a news cycle or too.
        Appalling decision, IMO.
        Cheers
                David
