Chuck, there is simply nothing inconsistent about saying that we need  
to get the deficit under control for the  health of the economy but  
that during a foreclosure crisis isn't the best time to raise federal  
revenues. It like knowing you have to cut down on the use of your  
personal credit card but confronting the fact that your child  needs  
emergency care.

The irony here is Obama's position here is exactly what McCain's was  
before he flip-flopped. Maybe McCain  realized that his supporters  
were too simple minded to grasp that what is a good policy under some  
circumstances isn't necessary a good policy  always.
