Yes, I think I have already done this, because it is advised by the install
guide. Anyway, I just gave a try with:
*./configure --with-libtiff=internal --with-geotiff=internal
--with-rename-internal-libtiff-symbols=yes
--with-rename-internal-libgeotiff-symbol*
Then make and install. But same warning. (My ubuntugis distribution is up
to date. I also tried with packages (gdal 1.10) but it does not help. Used
repository: deb
http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntugis/ubuntugis-unstable/ubuntu precise main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntugis/ubuntugis-unstable/ubuntu
precise main)

Also, I ran ctest but encountered some error
message<http://pastebin.com/RUC8qsKr>
.
How can I check if bigtiff is enabled?
