I give another try, starting with a clean vm. OTB4.0 compiled fine, but I
have the same segfault problem than before.
Here are the steps I followed:

*1. Create a chrooted ubuntu precise*
with debootstrap:
debootstrap --arch amd64 precise /var/chroot/otb_env
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu

*2. Edit sources.list and put the following repositories*
###### Ubuntu Main Repos
deb http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise main restricted universe
multiverse
###### Ubuntu Update Repos
deb http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-security main restricted
universe multiverse
# ubuntugis repos
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntugis/ubuntugis-unstable/ubuntu precise
main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntugis/ubuntugis-unstable/ubuntu
precise main

*3. Update, Upgrade, then install the following packages:*make
cmake-curses-gui build-essential mercurial
libgdal-dev
libtinyxml-dev
libkml-dev
libmuparser-dev
libboost-all-dev
libgeotiff-dev

*4. Download & build ITK4.5.1 with CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS=-fPIC and
CMAKE_C_FLAGS=-fPIC *(CMakeCache here) <http://pastebin.com/u7FxsvUy>

*5. Download ** OTB4.0 **(from http://hg.orfeo-toolbox.org/OTB) then build
with CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS=-fPIC and CMAKE_C_FLAGS=-fPIC* (CMakeCache
Here)<http://pastebin.com/mM48uKwW>
No error message, no warning. OTB4.0 compiled fine.

*6. Add otb lib directory to LD_LIBRARY_PATH*But I still have this ugly
segfault at the end of the execution of otbcli programs... (Always the same
:* /usr/local/bin/otbcli: line 29: 13871 Segmentation fault
$OTB_CLI_LAUNCHER "$@"*)
OTB is working, so it's not a critical issue. Nevertheless I want to avoid
this segfault. I will restart on another vm building mandatory libs from
source. I keep you updated.
