I've just confirmed my suspicion. the file at ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/otrs/RPMS/suse/9.x/otrs-1.2.2-01.i386.rpm does not install v1.2.2-01, it installs v1.1.2. the contents of the RELEASE file:
