1wire is great however I want to switch AC voltages. Although I can easily

expensive.

I was thinking of hacking a wireless remote controlled power socket (See
link below) and control through a 1wire switch. It turns out $10.00 per
point so its cheap and a consumer device which is certified for my country
for 240VAC applications. The remote has an ON and OFF button per socket.

Control of individual appliances would be a wonderful application, particularly through owfs. But, consider this lesson...

My extended family has a similar application running as a commercial product. The idea may have been good but the implementation was abysmal. During one visit someone pressed a button to turn off an entry light and every single bulb in the place lit up. They had to "reboot the lighting control" to bring things back to normal, which I learned was a frequent occurrence. Reminded me of a Three Stooges episode where someone turned on a light switch and water poured forth from a socket.

Well, technology can be entertaining.
