Alice's latest:

Hi Amoeba,

Congrats on the new place, I take it you've got it since you have arranged moving in time, that's excellent.

I thought i had mastitis starting yesterday.  I had been feeling fluey and had a fever the night before, just thought i was rundown after the peace march but when i woke the next day one of my boobs was really sore and a bit hard, so i read that you are meant to get immediate attention with a dose of antibiotics and i REALLY don't want to touch antibiotics so instead i put heat on it and massaged and expressed a bit and remembered one of the ozmid emails about having the baby's lower jaw close nearest to hte sore part when they are feeding.  This was interesting since it was the inner upper section of my left boob which meant i had to lie on my side and have her propped up with her body lying across near my face....hmmm....but anyway, it's much better today.  Still a bit sore but feels much better and is much softer.   I have also been drinking rasberry leaf tea and also i think perhaps most importantly i have been visualising it clearing as i feed her, seeing a big waterfall of free flowing milk, and massaging the area as she drinks.  So i think it's under control now.....

And i shouldn't bitch about getting my period, it's just a sign that i'm fertile!

>Hi, Alice,
>It certainly sounds like period. Maybe it's good my babies didn't sleep through! Yes, when they don't suckle at night, it changes hormones.
>As long as you're not having pain or feeling off, never mind, you know your body is healthy. Must be a drag in some ways though, I'm sure Jonathan will agree! Eat lots of lettuce, it balances oestrogen levels.

>No, didn't go to march, went to the AGM of the Vietnam Veterans' Association! Rosie and Leslie went, didn't see each other, but both ended up standing on pillars at opposite ends of plt house! Does that say lots about my kids?
>
>Well done with nappy changes! There should be more of that. It's awful sitting next to a tot with a pongy nappy, for everyone, not to mention the baby. Next time it's Jonathan's turn to risk his trousers!
>
>I'm enjoying gentle birthing, glad you enjoyed Pinky's. Did Jonathan read it too? What does he think?
>
>About to collect boxes and tape for more packing, moving to Beaumont (pardon me) in less than 3 weeks!
