Scott, I kind of see the disclaimer u made as "please criticize what I can't just do" and I see ur point... numeric times u and I and others went on to say how bad of job microsoft has done to centralize all of the silverlight content in a way that is inspiring and communicative (ok not everyone, I know Kinney is pushing it up with his stuff but it still remains de-centralized).
information architecture, site structure and even where to go for information keeps changing almost every quarter and for worst... what kind of continuum is msft giving to this? when silverlight lived within microsoft.com/web it was the first time that I said "ok now u guys are going into something" but now it is nowhere to be seen... and yet that website is one of the best places there. The collapsible thing rather than been something to inspire and show the kind of experiences you can build on top of it just makes me scratch my head and go... really? is this the best I can accomplish? better things could many of us had been able to do with the money I am sure that went behind such experience... it's a shame (pound intended) even to go public with something like that. silverlight is about to hit mainstream with WP7 and now more than ever microsoft should be pulling all of its resources to make of this the place and technology to go I hope this is just an interim to what is just to come on MIX and as a placeholder for greatness will only live a few days... flash is going into thunder storm right now is only for the SL crowd to take advantage and lead. the silverlight team has done some amazing things during the last couple of years, hopefully they get the same kind of experience they have been pushing to build for and microsoft for once put their money where their mouth is suposed to be and build the right places for the community of new and seasoned developers to play along and for decision makers to be wowed. right now there is still a lot of room for improvement. cheers in the OZ land. G.
