DCCP is pretty nice, I agree.  I modeled a lot of my protocol on it.

Somehow I only learned of it moments ago, but it looks like it might have saved me an incredible amount of work building my own congestion-control protocol.  (Or, like many libraries, perhaps it would have just been another dead end before I eventually decided to write it myself anyway.)
