I have not used UDT but if you want an efficient library optimized for signaling messages you can use ENET (UDT is more good for high-bandwidth data transfer). Enet, original C implementation : http://enet.cubik.org/ JEnet, java implementation of Enet : https://jenet.dev.java.net/ I am working on a Jenet based library, it is a java.nio reimplementation that in a transparent manner implements Nat traversal and security using inside a modified Jenet protocol. Soon I will able to open a sourceforge project, I let you know when this project will be online. -Luigi De Donà
_____ Da: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Per conto di David Barrett Inviato: giovedì 12 luglio 2007 12.06 A: 'theory and practice of decentralized computer networks' Oggetto: [p2p-hackers] UDT? Has anybody used the UDT library (udt.sourceforge.net)? Stands for UDP-based Data Transfer Protocol. Somehow I only learned of it moments ago, but it looks like it might have saved me an incredible amount of work building my own congestion-control protocol. (Or, like many libraries, perhaps it would have just been another dead end before I eventually decided to write it myself anyway.) -david
