The proposal is that peer to peer networks should operate in a progressive left wing manner - that money issue should be done after style of president Camacho to stimulate the peer to peer economy <http://blog.jim.com/economics/the-end-state-of-democracy.html>.

The counter argument is that progressivism and leftism in practice requires guys with guns from the government to beat you up, which is not going to be easy in a peer to peer network.

Whereupon the past history of leftism (150 million dead) and progressivism (wars, economic collapse, and social collapse) becomes on topic, but threatens to derail the list.

If we wish to avoid discussing that bloody history once again, or the prospects for history repeating in an equally bloody fashion in the next decade or two, let us stick to the economics of money issue, and avoid pious moralizing about the politics and morality of money issue

If the horrors and crimes of the twentieth century are to be off topic, as they should be for fear of derailing the list, the politics and morality of money issue and market economics must also be off topic.

Market economics is on topic: Its sinfulness and political implications have to be off topic. If anyone points to the fact that the market does not guarantee that everyone be fed, then Ukraine famine, Hungry Ghosts famine, and German hyperinflation are necessary and relevant replies.

So let no one mention that markets do not guarantee to feed everyone.
