This is a pretty good question. > Because people like you have murdered over a hundred million people like me, > and done so with a lordly glow of moral superiority and with the glowing > endorsement of the New York Times and Harvard university. > > Hence that pious smugness disgusts me. It is not the technical details that > are off topic, as the piety and moral superiority. This is not a very good answer. If you feel disgust, that's fine. But why share your feelings with the 1070 other subscribers to this list? Or at the least, having already let all of those subscribers know your feelings, perhaps you could then fall silent, as they probably don't need to be reminded of your feelings in multiple emails. To be clear, I don't think that such seemingly tangential topics as the morality of markets and the history of the 20th century should be marked as "off-topic" for this mailing list. And, I don't necessarily think you are wrong! If anything, I'm sympathetic to your worldview. But, you're ruining the party and I wish you'd shut up for a bit and let other people talk. There are a lot of smart subscribers with interesting knowledge and ideas that I could learn from. I want to hear what they have to say.
