Hi Sewi and all, I probably won't be on IRC in the next 2 days but I thought a bit about the data collection. I think the first step should be to start collecting data in Padre and saving it in files in .padre/ without uploading anything to the server.
We can slowly build up this collection both seeing what data might be interesting, how to format it (CSV file?) and we can even start to build something that processes it. Once every X days or if the size of the file reaches Y bytes we should zip the data and start a new file. Once we have this working we can start building the upload and server mechanizm but we can do a lot of things before even thinking about the server. As of what kind of data to collect, we can start by collecting the actions and some related data. I think I'd like to know how often people (re)start Padre, how long do they keep it open, how many files they have open, what is the memory usage of Padre just to say a few. regards Gabor _______________________________________________ Padre-dev mailing list Padre-dev@perlide.org http://mail.perlide.org/mailman/listinfo/padre-dev
