I still don't understand why logging on your disc would even
appear to be a breach of privacy?

You already have a list of files opened by the user and a list
of search terms and probably a few other things that are needed
to display history.  We might start to keep a list of actions in order
to be able to execute the same actions again later similar to the
history feature of bash.
