Hi, sorry, I didn't know that, and just imitated what others did.
OTOH, it may be nice to also give credit (in the Changes file/release notes, additionally to the About box etc.) to people who do not code, but help the project in other ways, e.g. by adding/maintaining translations, or by just reporting bugs. It is a simple/easy thing to do, and it may motivate some people to contribute/ keep contributing if they see that their work is valued/acknowledged by the other developers. With regard to our code of conduct/diversity statement http://padre.perlide.org/code_of_conduct.html giving the same amount of credit to translators and bug reporters (vs. only to programmers) would be a step further in actually living the diversity we pay lip service to. Having said that, if most other developers prefer not having translation updates mentioned in Changes, I will of course not put them there any more. It would save me some work, after all ;-) Best regards, Zeno On Thu, May 20, 2010 at 3:47 PM, Gabor Szabo <szab...@gmail.com> wrote: > Not to distract from the value of the translations but I think > we have agreed once that we stop mentioning updates to > translations in the Changes file. > > Maybe we can mention in the release notes if a translation is > at 100% in a certain release and we mention in the > Changes file if there is a new translation or maybe even > new translator. > > Any opinion on this? > > Gabor > > > On Thu, May 20, 2010 at 4:41 PM, <s...@perlide.org> wrote: >> Author: zenogantner >> See also: http://padre.perlide.org/changeset/11481 >> Date: 2010-05-20 06:41:59 -0700 (Thu, 20 May 2010) >> New Revision: 11481 >> >> Modified: >> trunk/Padre/Changes >> Log: >> added burak's Turkish translation updates to Changes >> >> >> Modified: trunk/Padre/Changes >> =================================================================== >> --- trunk/Padre/Changes 2010-05-18 18:00:25 UTC (rev 11480) >> +++ trunk/Padre/Changes 2010-05-20 13:41:59 UTC (rev 11481) >> @@ -9,6 +9,7 @@ >> - Mousing over a sub/method name with ctrl pressed now highlights it >> to indicate it can be clicked on (Sam Crawley) >> - Regex editor: Support global flag for substitute (ZENOG) >> + - Updated Turkish translation (Burak Gürsoy) >> >> 0.61 2010.05.12 >> - MIME types: added a few C++ file extensions, added LaTeX .sty files >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Padre-commit mailing list >> padre-com...@perlide.org >> http://mail.perlide.org/mailman/listinfo/padre-commit >> > _______________________________________________ > Padre-dev mailing list > Padre-dev@perlide.org > http://mail.perlide.org/mailman/listinfo/padre-dev > _______________________________________________ Padre-dev mailing list Padre-dev@perlide.org http://mail.perlide.org/mailman/listinfo/padre-dev
