Since you've mentioned the V and the IIIx and memory, are there plans 
for a Vx? If the V had 4M of RAM, I'd buy one this afternoon. While 2M 
was an improvement over the standard 1M, I really could use 4M.

You're both right.  The hardware is slightly faster due to the 
processor
and the memory wait-states, but also we've spent some time optimizing 
some
of the more frequently used os functions. A software upgrade to a Palm 
III
device wouldn't be quite as fast as a Palm IIIx device would be.  The
speedup isn't night and day, but it is a nice little "speed bump" 
which
frequent users like us would notice.

As to whether/when there might be an update to 3.x for Palm III users, 
that
sort of decision isn't in the hands of engineers.  Nothing to announce 
at
this time.
