Better yet, Quartus Forth stand-alone apps start at 2K (for "Hello World")
with no run-time required, and, being native-code, are very fast. The
compiler runs entirely on-board the Palm. It's extensible, virtually
syntax-free, and fully supports the Palm OS and GUI. Forth source is
compact; it fits well on the Palm screen, and there's a workspace for
interactive testing.

I share the sentiment, at least in so far as it applies to industry trends.
