Hi,
You're not as much a Java person as you state. Believe in the language
more than you do now. Have a look at:
http://java.sun.com/products/kvm/
The KVM has a footprint of about 40k. It is designed to run on devices as
small as cell phones (128k RAM). You don't need 16Mb to run Java. This is
not WinCE, and Sun is not M$.
About decompiling, you can always obfuscate your class files. It makes
them as easy to decompile as machine code.
