What do you mean by "exit a program"? Normal apps don't have exit buttons;
you just switch somewhere else. And which program is it that you're
exiting?
There is some software out there which for some reason calls the old API to
bring up the 2.0-style launcher when the silkscreen button is tapped, but
that's an app bug which the 3.3 OS wouldn't have any affect on.
Do you have any weird hacks installed which might cause this behavior? Apps
can override what happens when you tap the apps button. Hit reset while
holding the up-arrow key, and once it has booted see if pressing the apps
silkscreen button still does the same thing. (If it now works normally,
great; if it doesn't that doesn't rule out an app which has messed with the
system pref.)
