(1) Is the device wiped totally clean after flashing the ROM, or did the
upgrade utility restore your old user data onto the device?
(2) If the latter, did you previously have a 3rd party launcher
installed? Here's a possibility: there was one previously, and its
creatorID was saved in the system prefs; then after the upgrade the
system prefs were restored but the 3rd party launcher itself was not
restored. This could cause the OS to default to the old launcher dialog
when you tap the launch button with the 3rd party launcher missing.
(3) If the device isn't wiped clean, can you test it by doing a hard
reset and see if this weirdness still happens?
