Well ... since many of them are not documented,
they essentially -are- random system crashes!

As Andreas pointed out, there are -Query- functions
that stop the system dead in it's tracks.  The whole
point of a Query function is so that you can avoid
making misteaks ... you try to ask the system nicely 
"can I access this record" before going ahead and
doing so ... but if merely ASKING THE QUESTION about
the status of the record triggers a reset, what
can you do?
