I hear ya.  Bob Ebert gave a talk @ PS99 about the new GFX APIs in PalmOS
3.5 which have the functionality you are looking for.  The question is
whether you need your game to run on PalmOS < 3.5 . . . probably not, since
the new APIs basically give you color support for free and everyone wants
color games ;-)
