Consider me clueless ... I've looked at that page and I have
no idea what you consider to be the clue there.  The fact
that it's an NT server?  What does that have to do with why
it needs to use 8080 ?

Consider me siding with the faction asking why use port
8080 in the first place.  The knowledge base should be
accessible through the standard HTTP port, 80.
