Is the serial connector the same as the Palm V? From the scant details on 
this page I take it the answer is no. Joining forces with Dave 
Lippincott, I think it's quite unfortunate that Palm isn't able to give 
the subset of developers involved with hardware add-ons and cables (a 
TINY subset, NOT a group so large that confidentiality can't be 
maintained) a heads up on the new connectors which were forthcoming. A 
company we're working with just had 10,000 cables made up. I don't think 
they'll go to waste, but it certainly might have affected their decision 
to invest a fairly large chunk of money had they known there was a new 
form factor (vis-a-vis cables) forthcoming; perhaps they would have made 
fewer Palm III-compatible cables and more m100-compatible cables. Oh and 
by the way, this isn't exactly a financially neutral thing for Palm 
either; the more accessories available sooner for the m100, the more they 
sell. Undoubtedly some folks were told, I'm sure, but others weren't, 
that's clear.
