Wireless doesn't have to equal Web pages nor HTTP as a delivery protocol. I
was reading two case studies regarding a hospital and a Navy ship both with
IR ports placed strategically. The users point their Palm devices then
HotSync. That opens up the possibilities further as anything that can be
HotSync'd can be easily delivered to the users.
You would not have been able to surf or access your e-mail had your facility
not invested initially in the wireless infrastructure. It's entirely
possible to perform the same activities on the Palm, just depends on what
infrastructure you invest in.
